The short answer

No single system suits every company. If you send crews to customers' homes and sites every day, choose an Arabic-first system that runs booking, follow-up, dispatch, the crew app and WhatsApp in one place. Its app should work offline, and its price shouldn't be charged per technician.

  • Daily crews for cleaning, moving, maintenance or delivery, sold by phone and WhatsApp: Rabtan, built for this work.
  • Already using Zoho Books or Zoho CRM: Zoho FSM, priced by appointments a month.
  • One ERP for accounting, inventory and e-invoicing: Odoo, often with an implementation partner.
  • A few jobs a day and one coordinator: Excel and WhatsApp may still be enough.
The Rabtan team wrote this guide, and Rabtan is one of the options compared. We describe Zoho FSM and Odoo from their own published pages, with sources and dates at the end; the local apps and Excel columns are our own summary.

Eight criteria that decide your choice

Before demos and price lists, know what your company needs. These eight points show whether a system serves crews in the field or stays in the office.

  1. One system from call to rating

When a booking is written in the office, copied into the crew's group chat, then into accounting's file, details get lost between copies. The right system carries the same booking from sales to the dispatcher, then to the crew's phone, then to accounting.

Ask the vendor: Does a confirmed booking reach the technician's phone without anyone retyping it?

  2. Arabic by design, not by translation

A full Arabic interface runs right to left and uses the words of your trade. Your workers may not read Arabic, so their app needs their languages too, such as Urdu and Bengali.

Ask the vendor: Is the interface right to left, and which languages does the crew app support?

  3. An app that works offline

Signal drops in basements, high-rise towers and on intercity roads. If the app stops when it does, the job's photos and steps are lost.

Ask the vendor: What happens to a job's photos and steps if the technician loses internet?

  4. WhatsApp inside the system

Your customers are on WhatsApp. Confirmations, arrival notices and rating requests should go out from the system itself, using Meta-approved templates, not from a staff member's phone. What is the WhatsApp Business API?

Ask the vendor: Are messages sent with Meta-approved WhatsApp Business templates, or through a linked personal phone number?

  5. Location and punctuality

What matters is knowing who is late before the customer calls, not watching staff all day. Find out when location is recorded and what alerts the system sends.

Ask the vendor: When does location recording start and stop, and does the system alert me when a crew is late?

  6. Pricing model

Some systems charge per user, some by number of appointments, some per company. For a company with large crews, per-user pricing rises with every worker you add for the busy season.

Ask the vendor: What will I pay if my workers or jobs double?

  7. Setup and data migration

A system that needs weeks of setup from your own team may not be ready before your season. Find out who moves your customers and bookings, and who trains your team.

Ask the vendor: Will you move our data from Excel, and who trains our dispatchers and crews?

  8. E-invoicing and accounting

E-invoicing (FATOORA) is mandatory for VAT-registered businesses in Saudi Arabia. Some systems issue the invoice themselves; others record what was collected and leave invoicing to your ZATCA-compliant accounting system. Either works, as long as you know which you are buying.

Ask the vendor: Where is the e-invoice issued, and how does collection data reach my accountant?

How Rabtan, Zoho FSM, Odoo and the alternatives compare

Five options field service companies in Saudi Arabia usually weigh, against nine criteria that matter to crew-based companies.

Prices as listed on each vendor's page for a visitor from Saudi Arabia on 2 November 2026, and they may change: Zoho FSM Standard is SAR 91.25 a month for 60 appointments, paid yearly; Odoo is US$13.50 per user a month, paid yearly, in the first year, then US$16.90. Zoho says VAT is added, Odoo doesn't say, so confirm tax with the vendor. The "New local apps" column summarises what three Saudi apps launched in 2025 and 2026 have in common, not any single app.

Which option fits your company?

The best choice follows how you work, not the longest feature list.

  • Daily crews for cleaning, moving, maintenance or delivery, sold by phone and WhatsApp

Rabtan: booking, follow-up, dispatch, the crew app and the customer's rating in one Arabic-first system. We set it up, connect it to your accounting system and train your team in person.A page for each industry: Cleaning · Moving · Maintenance and pest control · Logistics and delivery

  • Already using Zoho Books or Zoho CRM

Zoho FSM: it extends the Zoho tools you have, with e-invoicing through Zoho Books.

  • One ERP for accounting, inventory and HR

Odoo: field service is one part of a bigger system, often with an implementation partner and time for setup.

  • Maintenance built on recurring contracts and asset records

A specialist maintenance system: some new local apps are built around this work.

  • A few jobs a day, one coordinator

Excel and WhatsApp may be enough for now. Move to a system when workers get double-booked, job photos go missing, or work stops the day the coordinator is away.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best field service software in Saudi Arabia?

It depends on how you work. For companies that send crews out daily and sell by phone and WhatsApp, Rabtan fits best; for Zoho users, Zoho FSM; for one ERP, Odoo.

What is field service management software?

Field service management (FSM) software is a system for work done outside the office: it takes the booking, assigns the crew, sends the job to the technician's phone, and records the work, the payment collected and the customer's rating.

When does my company need a system instead of Excel and WhatsApp?

When a booking is written in more than one place, a worker gets double-booked, job photos stay on workers' phones, or work stops the day the coordinator is away.

What is the difference between field service software and an ERP?

An ERP runs accounting, inventory and HR; field service software runs the booking, the crew and the job. Some systems, such as Odoo, combine both, and many companies use a field service system alongside their accounting system.

Does Rabtan issue e-invoices?

Not itself. Rabtan records quotes, collections and job completion, and e-invoicing stays in your ZATCA-compliant accounting system. When needed, we connect Rabtan to your accounting system and sync the data between them, so no one retypes it.

Do you offer in-person training and support?

Yes. We set up the system, move your data, train your dispatchers and crews in person, and support you in person when you need it.

Does Rabtan's app work offline?

Yes. It saves job acceptance, steps and photos, then sends them when signal returns.

Is Rabtan priced per user?

No. It's a monthly subscription per company, based on its size, not priced per user.

Is there an Arabic alternative to Zoho FSM?

Yes. Rabtan is an Arabic-first system for field service companies in Saudi Arabia, combining sales, dispatch, the crew app and WhatsApp in one place.
